Первая работа Conception - легенды норвежского прог-металла. Альбом и впрямь несколько сыроват, грешит наличием массы шаблонов классического heavy / power. Напрочь отсутствует большинство фирменных фишек группы.
Но уже здесь виден громадный потенциал команды. Блестящая работа гитариста Тора Остби, волшебный голос Роя Хана заметны сразу. Многим композициям недостаёт цельности и некоторой изюминки, но есть несколько действительно интересных вещей. От себя бы отметил "Bowed Down With Sorrow", "The Last Sunset", "Among The Gods" - каждая из песен несёт огромный эмоциональный заряд, способна что называется "создать настроение", что вообще очень отличает творчество Conception. И отличает выгодно. |

Дебютник Conception - это не слишком выразительный хэви-прог, начисто лишенный запоминаемости. При всем мастерстве музыкантов, материал явно сыроват, и даже фламенко-гитара Торе Остби не добавляет музыке ярких красок. Мелодика лишена ясных очертаний, и, как следствие, ни одной песни, хотя бы претендовавшей на звание хита, здесь нет. |
