Американцы Grand Belial’s Key – это группа с высоким показателем смертности. Несколько лет назад ушла из жизни клавишница Лилит, которая, кстати, исполнила клавишные партии и на рассматриваемом релизе. А в 2006 году свёл счёты с жизнью вокалист и лидер коллектива Гримнир Вотансфольк, который по каким-то причинам не участвовал в записи обсуждаемого релиза. Его смерть и послужила концом коллектива.
Grand Belial’s Key – одна из старейших и наиболее неординарных команд с американского континента. Накопленный опыт и вовлечённость музыкантов сразу ощущаются при прослушивании сего опуса. Творчество американцев, в принципе, весьма доступно. Оно пронизано запоминающимися мелодиями и лейтмотивами. При первом прослушивании слегка ошарашивает контраст между мелодичным музыкальным полотном и наиэкстремальнейшей, талантливой, полной едкой сатиры, откровенно сатанинской лирикой. Взгляните хотя бы на названия композиций – отвязнейшее богоборчество. Со временем это ощущение несоответствия проходит – работа начинает восприниматься цельно и продолжает всё глубже и глубже засасывать в себя. На данном релизе Grand Belial’s Key сумели найти идеальный баланс между сыростью и непричёсанностью звучания и повсеместным использованием «правильных» для чёрного металла мелодий. Мелодичность здесь насквозь «трушная» - пропитанная традициями старого, доброго тевтонского трэша и оголтелостью раннего норвежского чёрного метала. Всё это действительно несколько напоминает Destroyer 666, но при этом музыка Grand Belial’s Key намного более атмосферна и подпольна. Для любого маньяка данный релиз – чёрный бальзам на сердце. Тут есть всё, чего мы ждём от чёрного метала – мощный и грязный звук, атмосферные риффы и параноидальная мелодика, неожиданные, красивые соло, некий налёт трэш-архаики, думающий и толковый барабанщик, одержимый вокалист, возносящий хулу небесам. Нетривиальное богоборческое творчество. Вызывает однозначное уважение... |

Американские блэк металлисты как Grand Belial's Key представляют собою банду, играющую некую смесь трэш металлический рифов замешанных на классическом мэйхэмовском саунде времён Deathcrush и ранних Slayer. Тут не пахнет Darkthrone и Burzum. Творчество этого коллектива отдаленно напоминает trash/black/death металхэдов из Австралии Destroyer 666 отличным смешением этих трёх стилей. В итоге получилась скоростная, агрессивная, радикальная антихристианская музыка. Американская Black Metal сцена всегда отличалась собой от той же европейской сцены, не говоря уже о норвежской, при том условии, что коллективов играющих Black Metal в США не так уж и много, так как там доминирует его Высочество Death Metal, со всеми отсюда вытекающими последствиями. В этом альбом слушатель не найдёт нордического холода и плотной стены true black гитарного звукового шквала. Вообщем музыка на любителей смешанных стилей. А так вполне не плохой блэк/трэш метал постулат для приверженцев раннего Bathory, Celtic Frost и Venom. |
